The room has rare beveled mirror
armoire. The room can be
combined with Cottage #4 via
locking doors connecting both
suites. Fireplace, ceiling fan.
Family Cottage #1:
Sleeps four adults. Two double
full twin antique beds with
match dresser and night stands.
Custom designed
carpet on real
plank wood flooring. Contains
front and rear entrances, as
well as a private porch with
rockers. Designed with
furnishing from the late 1800’s
and sports working Fireplace.
Brides Room and Bath:
Located on the first floor on
the main plantation home exist a
room designated for brides and
couples. The romantic room is
trimmed in crème and painted to
its original yellow color. The
ceiling is 14 feet high, and has
an enormous posted bed with full
tester crowned cap. The bed
design was perfected to the
exact match of the original
model designed for the home by
famous New Orleans furniture
maker Prudent Mallard. The bed
is constructed from original
rare Honduras red mahogany and
sports massive turned posts.
The bed is large and is very
comfortable for two. This rare
full tester is lined with hand
laid silk in a mapped pattern.
The room also features access
via a large walk thru window
directly to the front porches
and swings. The bathroom is
large with a unique carved sink
and large tub. The toilet is
original to the home and is very
rare and valuable. The room
features a matching mahogany
period lounge couch, framed
beveled mirror and two rare 1813
rare kneeling prayers. The
shambec chandelier is rare and a
one of a kind. Large 12” base
board and custom ceiling to
floor drapes cover both large
windows within the room.

All cottages or
suites contain their own private
and modern bathroom facilities.
Cottages are commonly used for
family fly ins by full time
Motor Coach Travelers as well as
Bed and Breakfast overnight
guests. Poché Plantation’s
Cottages and Suites shine with
the best accommodation rating
with the distinguished Three
Star, Diamond rating as
inspected in 2005 by Triple
AAA. Included in all cottages
or suites is color with cable
television, personal ice box
stocked, microwave, as well as
personal coffee makers. All
cottages, suites, outbuildings,
plantation home and porches are
posted no smoking and not
permitted. Smoking is permitted
on the front and rear porches of
the cottages suites, on the
front sun deck of the Columb
Recreation Home as well as the
rear smoking patio.
The entire facility with all
accommodations can be rented for
private functions upon request.
